Description: Including a solid pottery Olmec head originally from a figure depicted with finely sculpted facial features, applied textured hairdo. Some remaining white pigment on face and red pigment highlights the hairdo. Exc. cond. Together with a standing Tlatilco female figure depicted with bulbous hips and legs, hair braids down her chest. Some overall remaining red-brown and ocher pigment highlights. Scattered mineral deposits on the surface. Intact, exc. cond. Both have old lucite cube bases.
Provenance: Collection of Edith and Murray Stein, NYC., acquired 1960s-1970s. Ex. The Lands Beyond Gallery, NYC, #1307.
