Description: |
Abstract guardian figure carved of wood and covered with hammered brass sheet attached with small brass staples at edges, displays slightly concave ellipsoid face with applied ivory disc eyes, relief brows, slender wedge nose, and vertical sheet with pin-pricked detail. The sides of the face have crosshatch texture, short extensions at sides, and arched crest rising above. The back with relief central ridge, and body of lozenge form display a medium brown and blackened smooth patina with general surface wear. Brass has mottled honey yellow and red-brown burnish.
