| Description: |
First, a bulbous-bodied vessel having a tapered shoulder, collared rim and single applied handle. Remains of a black glazed ground and a small concentric ring decoration. Overall earthen encrusted surface. Some glaze loss under the encrustation and a minor rim chip, otherwise intact. Custom wood base. Together with a redware pottery vessel having twin opposing handles with simple decorative capped lugs. Overall surface encrustation, repaired from three original pieces. Custom wood base. |
