| Description: |
Each of similar form having a wide bowl with graceful handles at opposite ends and standing on a pedestal foot. First a red-figure painted example with nude youthful athlete holding strigil withing a Greek key border in tondo. Considerable erosion of the image, chips and reassembled from four original pieces. Other is a simple, undecorated black glazed example, one segment of rim containing one handle reattached. Light paint loss, else intact. “Taranto” penned on base. |
