| Description: |
Large hollowed hemispherical helmet carved in form of a ferocious animal with large rounded eyes and projecting rectangular jaws displaying interlocking pointed teeth. The domed top of the head is adorned with small pointed horns having grooved texture, and smaller duiker horns all around back and on forehead. His strength is further enhanced by the chameleon balanced on back, tusks at sides of mouth, and small horns on top of jaws. Relief pierced ears on sides would have held adornments. Surface deposits, dessicated insect casing encrusted on side; medium brown patina. Custom base. |
