Description: |
A large stone slab having a beautiful, large criniod fossil. Crinoids also known as sea lilies or feather-stars are marine animals, characterized by a mouth at the top surrounded by feeding arms. The word Crinoid is derived from the Greek word Crinoldea or Krinon which means lily. Crinoids live in shallow water and in depths as great as 6000 meters. A few normal, repaired breaks in the rear portion of the slab. An excellent example. |
