Description: |
Lovely and ornate head gear made for a person of high rank. The deep red felt cap is adorned with numerous rows of silver applique square and round bosses, all with relief central motifs. Several bells are interspersed and dangle, each with a glass embedment above. At top is a pommel finial with danglers surmounting an ornamental dome with inlaid brass. Suspended from the rear base and meant to cover the neck are numerous multi-colored beaded strands, some with fringed tassle ends, others with old coins, and a row of buttons sewn above. Exc. cond. |
