Description: |
Hollow, redware terracotta female figure having a simple, squarish body with female genitalia and slight indication of breasts. Thick legs taper to near pointed feet, the proportionally short arms are suspended at the sides. Face bears double drilled, rectangular eyes and mouth with low relief nose having two drilled nostrils, surmounted by the natural pottery color, elongated crown having zigzag incised detailing. Head reattached, body reassembled from about 1/2 dozen or so original pieces with restoration over the break lines. Custom metal base. |
