| Description: |
A rounded pottery ball type merchants tag, originally attached to merchandise with a rope, when the rope decayed it left a hole through the center of the tag. It bears the seal impressions of four witnesses or business men: a Pegasus, a winged griffin, a standing human figure and a figure holding a staff(?). A large area of crystallized encrustation and an ancient crack on one side of the perforation hole, otherwise intact. A rare example. |
