Description: Attic black-figure siana cup decorated on both sides of the exterior with a painted and incised running warrior holding a large round shield and wearing a plumed helmet, between two mounted horsemen. A siren, human headed bird, under the handles. Birds in the field. Vine pattern around the upper exterior rim. Interior decorated with a large roundel depicting a kneeling siren. Finely painted rayed and checkered borders under the exterior figures. Three large pieces reattached in the rim, pedestal foot reattached, affecting the central interior decoration. Small chip on rim of foot, old surface lacquer. A nice example.
