Red-figure pottery incense burner decorated with a seated nude male figure holding a mirror and a grape sprig, large palmette on reverse. Wave and floral pattern borders, split palmettes and scroll patterns. Surmounted with a circular dish having a large floral element in the interior bowl. Bowl is repaired from three large original pieces, otherwise intact. A rare and beautiful example. |
