Description: |
Carved in the Baphuan style, this brown sandstone head of a male bears a thin moustache above his finely carved mouth, realistic nose above and small, almond shaped eyes are slightly recessed beneath a thin brow line. He wears a textured headdress with raised central tower, all intricately detailed. This above the finely striated hairdo, elongated earlobes at the sides. Minor chipping, generally exc. cond. Very decorative but probably not ancient. Custom wood block base. |
