Description: |
A large redware pottery standing dog with tail spout. A fine two-tone red surface, having a bright red tail, large round spots on both sides of his stomach, and areas of the head and neck are highlighted in red on a red-brown ground. Incised round eyes, long snout, perked ears and a toothy grin. Several areas of mineral deposits on the surface. Restoration to the upper portion of the left ear and a small chip reattached in the rim of the spout, otherwise intact, overall exc. cond. A nice dog. |
