Hammered sheet bronze disk decorated in repousse depicting Gilgamesh - Master of the Animals, depicted with a long pointed beard, feathered spread wings and wearing a crown and a long geometric pattern wrapped skirt. Holding a mythological animal upside-down in each hand, by their rear legs. Outer beaded border, additional animals and floral elements in the ground. Overall blue-green surface patina. Losses to the outer border edge, otherwise intact. Custom frosted lucite display stand. |
