Description: |
Chocolate ware pottery large upper portion of a figural vessel depicting an acrobat or flying deity. Left leg forms the vessels spout. Depicted with expressive facial features, wrinkled cheeks, central textured hair tuft. Some remaining traces of red pigment highlights. Missing most of the lower bulbous vessel, repaired from approximately ten original pieces with restoration over the break lines. Custom metal base. A rare and interesting type. |
