Description: |
Creamware pottery pelican vessel, depicted with a long slender beak, large round eyes and nostrils, with wing tips crossed. Wide open vessel mouth in the center of his back. Painted red-brown highlights on the upper wing edges and interior mouth band. Wing tips reattached and two minor restored rim chips, otherwise intact. A rare example. |
