Description: |
Salmon color pottery lidded urn having a cylindrical body with flat base and relief designs of a stylized small bird, repeated on reverse. Also two small lugs near the rim. The lid is in the form of a stylized human head with arms raised and partial bust beneath in the form of the domed cover, applique facial features. Overall surface weathering with high point losses and some fingers. Strong areas of surface encrustation, lid repaired from four original pieces and both arms reattached, visible break line on right shoulder and a long stable hair line on the back of vessel. |
