Description: |
Carved blue-green jade spoon, with a profile combination of a serpentine flame eyebrow with the beak of an avian raptor bird, believed to be a Harpy eagle, having an open fanged mouth, a spiky head crest, and a shallow spoon in the rear portion of head and neck, perhaps used for hallucinogenic compounds. Biconical drilled suspension holes along the upper edge. Old mellow surface patina with some scattered encrustation and traces of cinnabar. Intact, exc. cond. Custom bronze base.
