Fine solid pottery seated male figure, having a white slip surface with red painted highlights. Very naturalistic sculpted musculature and classic Olmec facial features, and having a tapered domed head. Both hands resting on his crossed legs. Overall scattered root marks and surface deposits. Minor restored chip on the right side of nose and some resurfacing to his right cheek and forehead, otherwise intact, overall exc. cond. A top quality, beautiful example. |
