Description: |
Cast bronze fibula depicting a standing figure of Pazuzu, the wind god portrayed with a demonic horned head, large round bulging eyes and a very wide mouth. His arms form the curved horns of a ram’s head, with the ram’s eyes depicted on the sides of his chest. Stamp face on the underside of the integral base depicts a standing figure of Pazuzu. Overall encrusted blue-green surface patina with scattered red-brown oxides. Missing attachment pin, otherwise intact. A rare example. |
