Description: |
Thin walled blackware pottery bottle with elaborate incising and slick finish; burnished interlocking pattern on the globe appears in relief, a subtle cameo or intaglio technique owing to the concentric incising and matte finish of the background, highlighted with red pigment. Overall scattered surface deposits. A very minor rim flake, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A rare and beautiful example. |
