| Description: |
Elegant grayware pottery bottle with integral tripod legs with knob feet, globular body and tall neck derived from gourd forms. In the Blakely Engraved style, circular incised lines demarcate the neck and discreet, simple motifs descend downward over the vessel body. These vessels were highly burnished to accentuate the sculptural qualities of the pottery. A shallow 1/4” ancient rim chip, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A rare and beautiful example. |
