Description: |
Large pottery amphora, having a conical body, rounded point base, wide cylindrical neck and flared rim. Decorated with large registers of black sunburst design with circular elements surrounding the sunbursts on a red-orange ground. Ocher painted wide shoulder band. Neck decorated with a similar design. Overall scattered mineral deposits. Body repaired from approximately six large pieces, and the lip rim repaired from a few pieces, with restoration over the break lines. A nicely decorated example. |
