Fine polychrome decorated four lobed vessel with long tapered spout connected the the flanged rim. Beautifully painted decoration, having large painted panels on all four lobes with various spiral and claw type elements, neck decorated with interlocking spirals. Painted red-orange, cream, black and mauve-purple. Mauve is a highly desirable color, to collectors, on a Cocle ceramic. Rim flange and the very tip of the spout are restored, otherwise intact. A rare and beautiful example. |
