Description: |
Carved red sandstone niche stele depicting a Shiva standing on the back of a supplicant or prisoner. Shiva is depicted with four arms, two holding weapons with long handles, one holding a small animal, and the other holding prayer beads. Overall dark surface patina. Repaired from two large original pieces, with break line left visible. Overall losses to the outer border. Mounted on a custom block base. |
