Description: |
Carved black hard stone ceremonial yugito, carved to fit over the thumb, while being handheld. Depicting a beautifully carved portrait of a ballplayer wearing a protective helmet, which has a stylized bird head on the center brim, probably a symbol of power, and disc ear ornaments. Below his chin there is a carved monkey head. Large biconical drilled and carved handgrip. Overall scattered surface deposits. A very rare, top quality, beautiful object. |
