Description: |
Natural buff-brown pottery vessel depicting a stylized alligator head with a raised spiked head crest, and a large open toothy mouth with a human head facing forward inside his mouth, integral rear bowl opening. Overall painted black bitumen surface on the alligator. Most of the head crest spikes are restored and the rear bowl has been repaired from a few large pieces with restoration over the break lines. A very rare example. |
