Fine and elaborately decorated pottery anthropomorphic cylinder vase standing on an integral low pedestal base. Decorated in high relief with a deity or shaman, wearing a fancy headdress, wide nose ornament, disc ear ornaments, a large disc pendant necklace decorated with a frowning face, and large feather ornaments from his shoulders. Very expressive facial features. A very minor rim flake and a small chip under his left hand, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A rare and beautiful example. |
