Description: |
Polychrome painted plank section, originally from a box or sarcophagus. Painted gesso covered wood plank in multicolors, depicting Sons of Ra, flanking the deceased seated in a temple, holding a scepter, and having a glyphic inscription within the temple. Additional hieroglyphic inscriptions along the top. Some normal paint loss, mainly along the top edge, otherwise intact. Custom metal base. A nice example. |
