Description: |
Large red-brown slipware pottery seated female figure, legs crossed at her ankles, right hand held to her cheek, and her left hand on her right elbow. Very expressive facial features, with wide open eyes, large tab pierced ears. Wearing a cross banded headdress. Overall scattered surface deposits. Loss to the top of her head, repaired break through her waist with restoration over the break line, chip on the back lower edge of her hairdo, and two surface chips on her left arm, both lower legs reattached with resurfacing over and around the break lines. A very rare type. |
