Size: 8-1/2”H. x 3”W.

Description: Fine pottery standing female figure depicted with very naturalistic anatomy and features, having full rounded thighs, stomach and ample buttocks and breasts. Holding her right arm in a forward position, left arm to her side. Lips parted as if singing or speaking, eyes partially closed, finely incised hairdo and wearing ear spools. Some remaining white pigment ground with traces of red and pink highlights. Overall scattered mineral deposits on the surface. Arms, head, lower right leg and feet reattached with restoration over the break lines. Missing fingers, and toes restored. Exceptional facial expression, a truly beautiful example. Old custom lucite base.
Provenance: From the collection of Brian Mahony, NYC. and Redding, CT. Active 1980 - 1990’s. Acquired from Fine Arts of Ancient Lands, NYC., June 4th, 1984, with copy of sales receipt. Copy of letter from Robert Sonin, NYC., dated Nov. 5, 1985.
