| Description: |
Finely carved canoe prow fragment in the form of a crocodile’s head, its elongated jaws surmounted by a small bird with a long beak and defined body. The crocodile’s large hollowed eyes and open jaws with visible teeth and fangs are well rendered. The piece is separated from the original canoe structure, the edges showing signs of charring, surface wear, some abraded wear. Dry weathered old patina. |
