| Description: |
Cream-tan slip solid pottery seated figure, depicted in a very naturalistic pose, legs crossed, left hand on thigh and right hand resting on his calf. Elongated domed head, full cheeks, very expressive facial features, parted full lips, and head turned slightly to the left. Broad shoulders with a naturalistic torso and plump overhanging belly. Overall scattered mineral and surface deposits. Minor restoration on back of head and both forearms reattached, right arm reattached at the shoulder, with restoration over the break lines. A top quality, beautiful example. |
