Brass alloy edan staffs to be worn by Ogboni society, attached by a chain link connected at top of a conical cap, the faces are well cast with double crescents on forehead, and an abstract matching motif on tubular body, with iron pins beneath. Encrusted deposits and some green oxidation on face. Custom base. Together with a male Ibeji figure that memorializes a twin, carved with tall tapered hairdo, angular ears, and metal pupils, also wearing metal alloy bracelets. Weathered surface, mellow worn patina. |
