Carved limestone head, originally from a votive figure, possibly depicting Artemis Bendis, goddess of the hunt. Wearing a wreath on her phrygian cap. Overall excellent ancient surface patina with deposits. Some minor highpoint surface wear, and scattered small ancient losses on her nose and left cheek, scattered minor imperfections. Mounted on an old hardwood block base. |
