A molded terracotta relief plaque depicting a symplegma scene - a frontal nude female figure engaged in a sexual act - a subject common to Mesopotamian votive practice and likely connected to fertility cult worship, in which such images were offered at shrines to invoke divine favor for reproduction and abundance.
Very good condition. Some chips and softening to details. Mineral encrustations.
