| Description: |
Probably carved by carver Olumole of the Oyo tribe, figure stands with long feet on integral circular base, hands on hips, prominent breasts, and adorned with strands of beads around neck, waist, and wrists. Her rounded head bears rounded facial features, large oval rimmed eyes with nail pupils, wide nose, and ears set back and pierced with fiber, above her hair in multi-lobed coiffure with striated detail. Surface with compacted camwood, deep brown-black patina, and face with polished patina. |
