Elaborately carved black stone cinnabar container in the form of a cacique or mystical figure with protruding ears and tongue, and having a relief carved head on the reverse. Wearing a fancy feathered headdress. Overall carved decoration highlighted with cinnabar, and with some red cinnabar contents. Intact, exc. cond. A beautiful, high quality example. |
