Cream slip hollow pottery seated figure with splayed legs, resting both hands on his knees. Depicted with very expressive facial features, open mouth, well sculpted naturalistic node and narrow eyes, wearing spool ear ornaments, a fancy red and black painted helmet, and having incised linear and geometric decoration. Some overall remaining cream slip surface. Repaired from approximately fifteen original pieces with restoration over the break lines. A really fine example of the classic type. |
