Gray and black pottery figural vessel in the form of a volcanic mountain, with a kneeling human figure holding both hands on his knees. Head turned to the right and looking slightly upwards. Expressive facial features, open mouth with a bow shape upper lip. Fancy textured detailed hairdo, pulled into two rear tails and a large front bun. Overall scattered strong surface deposits and root marks. Same hand as Raymond Wielgus’ famous kneeling old woman. Princeton University Museum, Olmec World. Intact, exc. cond. |
