| Description: |
Carved blue-green serpentine stone standing figure, probably depicting a shaman in transformation, having an elongated tapered dome head, parted bow shape lips, bearing an upper row of teeth, recessed eyes, tiny drilled nostrils and pierced ears. Holding both hands over his stomach, and having a hunchback. Some remaining traces of red pigment highlights in the recessed details. Excellent ancient overall creamy surface patina. Back of head sheared off along a natural fault line in the stone, and reattached. Also a few remaining natural hair lines around his neck and head that have not been separated. Generally exc. cond. A beautiful example. |
