| Description: |
Grayware pottery flattened saucer-form bottle having a long slightly tapered neck and flared rim. The engraved motifs retaining their red ochre highlights. This style, known as Hodges Engraved, is generally characterized by curvilinear forms set off against a crosshatched background. Beautifully decorated on both the upper and under body. Neck reattached and a restored 1” hole in the shoulder, tiny hole in the neck, otherwise intact. A rare and beautiful example. |
