| Description: |
Brownware pottery lidded incensario having a large fanciful composite creature finial depicting a prone humanoid with a long arm entering his open mouth, wearing a multi-pointed crown. He shares his body with a dragon type creature having a very fancy raised crest. The figure stands on top of a multi-vented hollow disc. Lid border having a spiked nub decoration. Base bowl having a low pedestal base, exterior of the bowl has an applied textured design. Some ancient loss on the rim and a stable hair line from the rim. Finial is repaired from a few large pieces with break lines visible, and a few scattered stable hair lines throughout. |
