Size: 6-1/2”H. x 11”W. (16.5 x 27.9 cm).

Description: Fine polychrome decorated pottery pedestal bowl, decorated with a crouching bat design in a two-part mirror image composition. Such two-part patterns with animals, insects and birds (bats) were common design schemes in Coclé. Here, the frenetic fine lines give the impression that the bats are flying. Overall scattered strong mineral deposits on the surface. Intact, exc. cond. A beautifully decorated example.
