| Description: |
Large polychrome painted pottery olla, having a bulbous body, and a flat flared rim. Wide center body band having four large triangular registers, each containing a large semiabstract mythological creature, having a long toothy snout, long curled tail and very long claws. Figures are in alternating upside down and right side up positions. Upper and lower concentric bands. Overall scattered strong mineral deposits on the surface. Many of the painted black outlines have been enhanced, and there is a 3/4” mostly under the rim chip, otherwise the olla is intact. |
