Description: |
Carved wood bracket presenting a Laskhmi-like goddess with layered crown, and standing in front of a foliate background. Brackets were carved for houses, temples, and chariots. Accompanied by an openwork hardwood panel of a figure standing upon the head of a hooded cobra, straight leg on the body, and a hand holding the tail. Left arm lost, and only hand visible. Dark burnished patina, traces of red pigment on integral base. Both on custom bases. |
