Large shield with five spirit faces on the convex front, each with circular eyes, arrow shaped nose with pierced septum, and engraved mouth. Fiber fringe attachments adorn the faces, and attached along the edges. Painted with red ochre, yellow, white, and dark brown pigment. Two sets of parallel handles are carved on the back. Loss on tip of finial atop. Matte patina with deposits. |
